Culture Centre, Agia Napa
Competition Entry (Third Prize) 1997

The building was planned on a site held between an existing local school part of which was retained and the culture heritage of Agia Napa.

The whole structure comprises of a main building comprising of a multipurpose hall, library and restaurant, an intermediate open space acting as a sculpture courtyard and the galleries linked l by linear paths. The shape of the site and the relationship of the buildings resulted in an L-shape form which reinforced the relationship of the cultural centre to the existing school building whilst maintaining a visual and physical connection to the courtyard and surrounding area.
